Cookie Policy

Draft — Pending legal review

Last updated: 1 November 2026

This policy explains the cookie categories RegionalOZ expects to use and how those choices are intended to be controlled. A consent-management system has not yet been implemented.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small files stored by your browser when you visit a website. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage, which can keep information on your device.

Some are required for a site to work at all; others are optional and can be declined.

2. Strictly necessary cookies

These enable core functions such as keeping you signed in to a research account, protecting forms against abuse, and remembering a privacy choice. The site cannot work correctly without them.

3. Preference cookies

Preference storage may remember settings such as a saved comparison layout or a dismissed notice. These are optional and can be reset by clearing site data in your browser.

4. Analytics cookies

RegionalOZ intends to measure aggregate page usage to identify broken pages and improve content. Analytics are intended to be configured to avoid collecting unnecessary personal information.

Analytics cookies are optional and will only be set where consent has been given once a consent tool is implemented.

5. Third-party cookies

Some functions rely on third-party services, such as authentication and, where applicable, payment processing for agent memberships. Those services may set their own cookies subject to their policies.

RegionalOZ does not currently operate advertising pixels or cross-site advertising cookies.

6. Managing your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent sign-in and saved research from working.

Until a consent tool is implemented, optional analytics are not intended to run, so the main control available is your browser settings.
